Day 4 – Thursday: Add a splash of personality with a mini-story
Would you like readers to trust you?
Before they can trust you, they have to feel they know you first.
But how?
Mini-stories about your personal experiences help engage your readers. They open an opportunity to share unrelated tidbits about your life because you can use them as metaphors.
Remember: as a mentor-style blogger, you don’t write to simply share your experiences, you want to use your experiences to inform, educate, and inspire your reader. Think about how they can benefit from your experience.
Your action points for today:
- Re-read the third and fourth mini-story examples (see Monday)
- Write a mini-story about a personal experience for one of your blog posts
- Leave your story simmering overnight and edit it tomorrow; post it in the forums.
- Pat yourself on the back – you’ve finished the last assignment before the blog post review. Well done!
Enchant readers. Woo customers. Win business.
