Hi Lee – to be honest, I find the possibilities of Evernote overwhelming. For years, I’ve only used it as a swipe file, but I’m slowly starting to use it for more – mainly for research at the moment.
Anything that I think might be useful at some stage, I dump into a notebook “interesting stuff” and tag it with one or two topics. Then when I need some information about a topic, I can easily search and review the article. When there’s a specific quote I like, I “swipe” the quote, otherwise usually a link to the article only.
Some people use it for storing blog posts ideas, too (either in a separate notebook or simply tagged “blog post idea”), but I still prefer a little paper notebook for writing down ideas.
