Day 3 – Wednesday: How to Cut Flabby Phrases
Flabby phrases slow your readers down. They’re tiresome. Exhausting.
Yesterday we looked at replacing wishy-washy words with powerful words. Today we look at cutting excess words from your text.
Your action points for today
Select a part of a new blog post to work – 250 to 400 is enough. Do NOT use the same text you worked on last week, because you’re using this blog post to consolidate your learning of last week and this week.
- Read the PDF How to Cut Flabby Phrases
- Address the types of flabby phrases one by one in your text.
- Feel free to post your work so far (and I’ll have a look whether you can tighten it further), or if you prefer you can wait until tomorrow.
