This is an excerpt from a post I’m working on. Due to limited time, I kinda rushed through it a bit, but I think I cleaned it up pretty good. It’s titled “Why Tony Stark Was An Introvert” or something like that. Here goes…

=========

Have you seen any of the Iron Man movies?

Do you wish you were Tony Stark (or the female version, if you’re a gal)?

Billionaire playboy inventor who saves the world every year in a new saga…

The life of the party…

Not afraid to proclaim in front of congress how bad-ass he is…

Maybe you ARE like this. If so, you may not need to read this post (although you may get a kick out of it).

But if you’re a little on the introverted side – as many copywriters and content marketers are – I’ll explain to you how you may be more like Tony Stark than your most extroverted friends.

I’m about to make a bold statement, and say…

Tony Stark was an introvert.

Yep, I said it.

Think about it…

When he’s in the public eye, he’s a high-rolling, Gucci-clad, womanizing braggart. Women swoon over him and men want to be his bro.

Any extrovert could do this and be in their element.

But that’s only part of his story. Stark may have gotten a few nods in the tabloids if this was all he was. But his story is a lot more powerful than that…

What makes Stark a world-renowned superhero? One that the White House has on speed-dial?

Tony Stark does the work.

He retreats to his man cave and builds things that finish telling his story, support his ego, and save the world.

Conscious Extroversion – The Introvert’s Superpower

I, as well as most copywriters I know, have introverted tendencies (very important term – tendencies).

This is because, to create our masterpieces – our versions of the Iron Man suit – we, like Stark, need to shut ourselves off in a room with only us and the blank screen, and do the work.

An extrovert would rather stab his eyes out with crochet needles than do this.

But us introverts need to be careful. Labeling is dangerous. If you just resign to your introversion, you’ll be missing out on the gifts extroversion brings (that allow Tony Stark to enjoy the fruits of his labor).

Being conscious of our introverted tendencies is great. But what if I told you that you could USE that knowledge to create your very own Iron Man – like superpower?

Well, it’s true. You do this by (que epic music)…

Conscious extroversion.

If you KNOW you’re TENDENCIES (labels are entrapping, tendencies are fluid and workable) lean towards introversion, you can work to become consciously extroverted in social settings to enjoy your fellow humans more (part of living a great life – if you’re into that kind of thing).
