Day 2: Tuesday – How to Encourage Your Reader to Take Action (and Why Sharing Tips Isn’t Enough)
Your ideal reader has gobbled up your blog post, and now he’s nearly finished. Just your final paragraph to read for dessert. How will you inspire him to take action?
In today’s video you review the 4 roles of a blogger and you learn how to overcome your reader’s main objection to following your advice (which is critical for being inspirational). At the end of the video you receive a short checklist for writing an inspirational paragraph.
Your action points for today:
- Watch the video below in which Henrietta writes a final paragraph
- Watch these two inspirational YouTube videos with Ira Glass: Ira Glass talks about learning how to tell stories (5min19sec) and On being creative (1min54sec) – the message in the videos is the same, but they’re so good, I recommend you watch them both 🙂
- Read the example final paragraphs in the PDF below the video
- Choose a blog post for which you’d like to write or re-write a final paragraph. Write a first draft. Don’t post it yet. Leave it to “simmer” and edit it tomorrow.
