Day 3: I like reading Derek Halpern’s posts. They always tackle a single topic, and very conversational.
I chose this one to analyse: http://socialtriggers.com/i-spent-310-on-a-mens-haircut-and-i-was-surprised-about-what-i-learned-about-selling/
He starts with a shocking number – 300 for a haircut? That is ridiculous! – as hey says. I like that he is not saying the conclusion that the price is high, and he know what’s in my mind: ridiculous.
Then he pictures the sunny side: charging more for your business.
In the next paragraph he emphatizes with my struggle by listing 3 thoughts what business owners might think who are afraid of increasing their prices. Reading this I could relate to at least one of the statements.
Then he writes about how he can help the reader achieve the promise: he made an experiment (that costed him a ridiculous $300) to tell the story of that good example and what you can learn.
