Day 4 – Thursday: Generate an endless stream of blog post ideas
Ever find yourself stuck and unsure what to write about next?
Consider speaking to a client and asking them what they’re struggling with. Almost certainly, they’ll come up with a few blog post ideas. When you answer your clients’ questions on your blog and help them achieve their objectives, they start craving your next blog post.
It often helps to spend 30 minutes a month (or once every three months) to generating blog post ideas. Get away from your computer. Instead, take a sheet of paper and a pen. Think about your ideal reader and consider how you can help him. Challenge yourself to generate at least 30 ideas in 30 minutes.
Your first ideas might be crappy, but keep going. You might surprise yourself with the ideas you come up with later. Write everything down – whether the ideas are crappy or brilliant. You’re more creative if you don’t judge your work straightaway. Write down any ideas, then find your favorites at the end of your 30 minutes.
