I also love to travel. But that isn’t my only interest. I understand it is best to be known for an established niche. But until I’m established, my niche is in flux.
The quickest way to get established is choose your niche and be focused. This doesn’t stop you from picking up jobs outside your niche. But focus helps build your authority quicker.
To make your blog successful, it’s best to choose an objective – build a readership for your future novels or gain clients for your content marketing business. Without a focus and clear objective, it becomes really really hard to build your audience.
For instance – you might want to consider creating your blog to help sell your novels in the future. To help with short term cash flow, you can use other means (like job boards or phoning/emailing potential clients directly) to find content marketing jobs.
Alternatively, you can start with building a blog that helps you attract the right clients for your content marketing business. Once you’ve established yourself and are able to charge higher fees, you can free up time to create a separate blog for your novel readers.
I know you have various blogs already, but I think you get most out of this course if you focus on one blog, one ideal reader, and one business objective. Later you can easily apply what you’ve learned to other blogs. I can also give you better advice if I understand what you’re trying to achieve. 🙂
Good news on all the job possibilities!
