Formal business and academic writing tend to have far higher averages. But blog posts are different – people don’t have the patience to read long sentences and long paragraphs.
Look for sentences that are long-ish and see whether you can split them in two. Don’t worry too much about cutting single words from sentences. Work with a big axe to cut the sentences in two or three separate sentences.
