Testimonials for Enchanting Business Blogging

I signed up to the Enchanting Business Blogging course because I want to create a blog to engage people on a level that many other blogs in my industry don’t. I’m an AdWords specialist, and I want to show readers how to get real results by getting Google Adwords and landing pages to work properly together.

I’ve had a lot going on during the course, so the length of the course was a challenge. However, the schedule is well-oiled, and I liked that the latter stages of the course were less intense.

The training material was well produced—the videos, PDFs, and cheat sheets were perfect. And I loved the consistency and quality of Henneke’s feedback.

The course has given me the confidence to write engaging content. Thank you so much, Henneke. I absolutely loved your course.

Before joining Henneke’s blogging course, I detested writing.

Why?

Because I doubted my talent. I never joined a formal writing course before. So, who the hell was I to share my words with the world? And how the hell would I do it? Where would I start? I wrestled with perfection. The blinking cursor provoked heart palpitations and breathlesness.

But … I wanted to find my flow more than I wanted to run from the horrifying tidal wave of doubt.

I needed structure: when to write, how to write, how to edit and how to be efficient.

Well … I got what I wanted and so much more. I learned how to write engaging posts using white space, subheads, and power words. Oh my! I am walking a way with so many gifts. The biggest gifts include: to be ok with shitty first drafts and to see drafting as creative expression, the editing mechanics come later.

During the course, I wrote, edited and published 3 blog posts in less time than it took me to write 1 paragraph before (here’s an example). And guess what … I am now confident enough to express: “I am a writer and I love it.”

Okay … love is a strong word but this gal needs a strong mantra to motivate herself. And Henneke’s says weak words suck!

I hope you choose to invest in your budding potential and join one of Henneke’s courses. Henneke offers high quality and compassionate instruction.

I know I will be back and hope to meet you soon!

When I discovered Henneke’s site back in 2015, I was hooked by her convincing and entertaining writing style, but since the courses are quite an investment I needed to be sure they are a good fit for me.

So, for two years I kept a close eye on Henneke’s work and re-read the syllabi of her two online courses on blogging and copywriting again and again.

Would such writing courses be worth the money? Would I get helpful guidance and support? Would I be able to keep up with the assignments? And most of all: would my writing skills really improve?

When Business Blogging again opened up for enrollment at the beginning of this year, I decided to find out. And I am so happy I did!

Henneke’s Business Blogging course surpassed all my expectations. The fun and inspiring materials were well presented and covered a huge variety of topics, the assignments were chopped up in doable chunks, and the forum offered the chance to learn in a group environment. But first and foremost, it was Henneke’s brilliant qualities as a teacher, her great expertise, her enormous engagement, helpful advice, and last but not least her friendly and supportive encouragement, which make this course absolutely outstanding. For me it ranks among the best online courses I have ever taken.

Henneke took me by the hand and thanks to her I am now able to write blog posts with confidence. What before had been a dreaded chore, is now pure joy.

I can’t wait to start her Enchanting Copywriting course in September.

Before the course, I had many ideas and stories swirling around in my head, but I didn’t know how to turn them into blog posts.

Henneke helped me organize my thoughts. I am now clear on who my ideal reader is, have a format for my blog, plus enhanced writing and editing skills. I feel clear, confident, motivated, and excited.

I have just released my first blog post and am amazed at the positive feedback I am getting already!

When I joined Henneke’s course I had already picked up loads of free tips from various bloggers, but I still struggled with the writing process. I felt slow, unable to organize my thoughts, and I had no idea how to turn a rough draft into an easy read for my audience. I wanted the writing process to be more enjoyable. I wanted to learn to write engaging articles with ease. I just wasn’t sure if Henneke’s course would teach me anything new.

The Enchanting Business Blogging Course, and Henneke, exceeded my expectations from day 1. The course was well-organized and presented in small, doable lessons and weekly assignments. While the assignments took some time to complete, I never felt overwhelmed with the material. Each week’s lessons offered aha moments and the writing assignments were always fun and enlightening.

I’ve taken courses before where instructors ramble and their hours-long videos have so much fluff and repeat that it’s hard to consume. In contrast, Henneke’s videos are short and to the point, and her drawings are wonderful—I laughed out loud many times.

What was the most valuable part of this course? Having Henneke as a writing mentor.

Henneke is a great writer and a gifted teacher. Getting her feedback in real time accelerated my growth as a writer immensely. Henneke works one-on-one with each student during the course, and this alone is worth 10 times the cost of this course. It’s one thing to watch videos or read articles about writing. It’s infinitely more useful to have a writing coach who reads your work, shows you how to make it better, and encourages you to keep going when you get stuck. I would gladly take this course over again just to have more of Henneke’s mentoring.

Thanks to Henneke, I now have a process that flows with ease from ideation to outlining to draft to editing. I am more comfortable expressing ideas and telling stories. I have learned how to transform an average blog post into an enchanted one. And best of all, I enjoy the writing process and look forward to writing every day.

From the get go I had high hopes for the course.

The level of useful, actionable and inspirational material Henneke gives for free through her blog made me wonder how good the stuff was she was keeping under wraps.

The course did not disappoint.

What I was looking for was adding more structure to my writing. Initially, the course length seemed long. But the steady pace allowed me to work through the course without feeling overwhelmed. And even when I got behind for a couple of weeks, I was still able to catch up.

Week 4 was particularly useful—encouraging us to embrace the shoddy nature of a first draft. Outlining has also proven invaluable and I’ve used it outside the course to increase the efficiency of my writing. Overall, the course length allowed the different stages of writing to sink in. Business blogging now feels less like an arcane art, and more like a collection of easy-to-follow recipes.

The personal nature of the course made all the difference. Receiving feedback from Henneke is probably the most valuable aspect. I’ve done other online courses before and while they’ve been useful, this has without doubt been the best.

I joined Enchanting Business Blogging to learn the skills, processes and methods of business blogging. I wanted to learn what and how to write.

The course served as a great foundation, and then some.

Not only did the course teach me about the craft of writing, it also got me into a daily writing routine which I’ve not wavered from. This routine also enabled me to complete the course and to understand the nuances of a creative writing process.

The structure and flow from one module to the next was tapered just enough to avoid overwhelm and to keep me moving forward with confidence. All the modules were outstanding, but what stands out most was Henneke’s prodding and poking to get me to re-evaluate aspects of my writing. This is worth the cost of the course alone.

Henneke is an amazing tutor and even better writer. She has in-depth knowledge of the material and goes out of her way to support, direct and advise her students. I could not have asked for a better person to help me. She laid a solid foundation upon which I can build every day to become a successful writer. This was an amazing course.

Henneke’s Enchanting Business Blogging course is like fentanyl for chronic writing pain.

For me this course undid 20+ years of misguided writing habits. Writing anything was excruciating. The process drawn out with no clear beginning and end points. The number of people who had a clue what I was trying to say could probably be counted on two fingers or less.

Henneke’s remedy for relieving author’s agony consists of carefully balanced theory and practice. The theory sections filled my back pocket with great strategies and sure-fire processes to follow.

The ridiculously simple but powerful self-editing steps. The foolproof recipe for writing a captivating opening paragraph. The clever keys to making a lasting impression on readers. To name a few.

Plus. I so appreciate that in the practice portions Henneke didn’t just send me off on my own. She gave me thoughtful suggestions and edits that showed me, rather than told me, how I could improve.

On top of all this. Maybe an even more elusive and invaluable benefit. The class allowed me to find a compelling voice. One that my readers will resonate with. Who knew? Writing for someone else is so much easier and more fun than just writing. It even seems that thinking and writing with my ideal reader in mind taught me a great deal about the topic itself. It’s amazing how that works.

It’s now been 7 weeks since the course has ended. I didn’t truly realize the awesome impact the class has had until this week. I wrote my first blog post sans Henneke. Without her step-by-step guidance and honest review. I wrote it in a day. (Well. I wrote the first draft on day one. Edited day two.) And… I love it! I read it and almost can’t believe I wrote it.

Thank you, Henneke!

Imagine sitting on a sunny sidewalk at a café …

As you are writing in your journal, your teacher occasionally strolls by to look over your shoulder and help with your work. Henneke’s Enchanting Business Blogging course is as close as you will get to that without buying a plane ticket.

I’ve been blogging for a couple years. It’s been the central part of my content marketing. My blogs were OK, but I knew they could be a lot better. I wanted to write posts that would entertain as well as inform my readers. Posts they would enjoy for more than the tips I was sharing. But writing them has been hard for me. They take more time than they should and I wasn’t confident that I was doing it right. I needed a course that would improve my writing and my process.

I’ve followed Henneke’s blog for a while and like her approach. When she offered this course, I was pretty sure it would be the right one. Even though it was more expensive than other courses I’ve tried, I signed up without hesitation.

Henneke far surpassed my high expectations. The course is organized beautifully and is packed with helpful content to help you understand each lesson. She posts videos, PDFs and downloadable slides so you can learn in whatever way is best for you.

Now I’m more confident in the structure and content of my posts. Every part of a post has a purpose. Adding specificity and movement paints a picture for my readers. When I sit down at the keyboard, I can see the path to my first draft. A detailed checklist helps me smooth out the rough parts to make the final version shine.

The only thing I didn’t get was a fresh pastry and a cup of coffee.

Have you ever felt like you were stranded in a life raft floating on the ocean completely alone?

Bailing like mad to stay afloat, but with nowhere to turn for help on how to fix the leak?

You’ve taken disappointing course after course. Talking head videos that tell you the same stuff and now you’re a bit gun shy to shell out yet more money.

I get it.

That’s how I was feeling when I came across Henneke’s course. I wasn’t sure her course was what I needed to turn things around. I was getting some interaction on my blog posts but I thought I had a marketing problem, not a writing problem. And frankly, I wasn’t sure I could afford it.

But I had a nagging sense I wasn’t communicating my message with much power.

I loved Henneke’s writing so I took one more chance … and it was the best money I ever spent.

Henneke is as wonderful one-on-one as she is in her writing. A mentor who cares about people and loves seeing them improve. She puts you to work, but she rolls up her sleeves and works right alongside you. She helps and supports you every (bite-sized) step of the way. Answers every random question you have.

Since the course, I see writing and blogging in a completely different light. I know WHY a blog post works or doesn’t work … and how to fix it. I can evaluate the difference between waffle and content that creates change. My writing is more powerful. I understand how to tickle the emotions of my readers with my words. I know how to add more value.

I’m not floating around aimlessly anymore.

And the engagement on my posts has shot up.

To reach through the screen, shove the clutter aside, to wipe away a tear from my reader’s eye.

I wanted to do that with my words. I just didn’t know how. How to reach out when I’m facing a faceless crowd.

Then I ran into Henneke’s course. The syllabus looked fantastic – everything I need to learn. But… I didn’t know if I could make it. It’s a 3 months course, and there were holidays in the middle. I wasn’t sure I’ll be able to keep up. But I decided I’m going to do this – I’ll dive in, make the effort, because I knew the course would teach me what I longed to know.

The course did take time and effort – an investment that was one of the most important I ever made. For my writing, my communication, and my business.

After writing for a professional journal for a few years, I needed to get rid of the formal tone. Henneke taught me how to make my words shine.

She taught me how to connect with my reader. How to create headlines that would draw her in. How to stand by my reader with my opening and ending paragraphs. How to write so she glides through the post.

I took other courses in the past. After I paid for them and got the materials, I was left alone to do the rest, not knowing if I’m getting it right. In this course, Henneke was guiding me hand in hand, giving me personalized feedback on every assignment, answering every question I had.

Her feedback is extremely valuable. It taught me how to think about my text, and how to edit myself – which is one of the most challenging things to learn. I noticed my writing improved within the first month.

Thanks to Henneke, I transformed the way I think about blog post writing. I know how to reach my reader. How to use my words to connect with her, comfort her and guide her. This is a set of skills I’ll always be grateful for!

Enchanting Business Blogging is the most valuable course I’ve ever taken (if I could only invest in one biz course…this would be it). Thanks for sharing your no-nonsense, doable techniques. For showing me how. For encouragement. For valuable critiques. And for your mentoring genius.

~ Lee Miller, WordPress Designer and Developer (Enchanting Business Blogging, 2014)

I could have continued reading blogs to learn how to improve my blogging skills…

However, I knew I would get faster results by having a professional writer providing feedback on my work. This is the priceless value you get from working with Henneke. She takes the time to review your homework with you.

I like all the ingredients of the course: the format, the content, the examples, the way it is delivered in advance on Fridays, the teacher, and the cozy online study place Henneke has created for students to learn together. Also, the videos are short, which is important to me—I don’t like to spend hours watching course videos. The course is so well set up that we only have to follow it.

The course has helped me overcome the anxiety of writing in English, which is a foreign language for me. I received compliments on an article I published while following the course, which showed me how fast I progressed with my writing.

Thanks to Henneke’s enchanting teaching, I now have a smooth process for publishing my blog posts; and I rediscovered the pleasure of writing.

I knew an engaging blog would attract visitors and promote sales. But boring corporate copy was all I could muster. How could I make manufacturing toilet cubicles interesting?

The course taught me how to attract customers with enchanting headlines (yes, for a rather dull industry). It helped me engage readers with a hypnotic flow, and promote our products using fascinating stories.

I enjoyed the course videos which provided good introductions to the modules, and the “daily” tasks made progression straightforward.

And the cost?

I’d say relatively cheap. For the price of a magazine advert, the course showed me how to create a blog to attract customers. I learned how to generate endless ideas for guides and blog posts. This means our marketing and promotion will never run dry.

Potential customers now come to us for information and advice. This lifts us above our bigger (but duller) competitors.

~ Ged Hirst, Cubicle Centre

I was not a confident writer. I knew a course would help me. But taking a twelve week program concerned me. I was afraid it would take too much time from other work.

My fears were unfounded. Because the assignments were manageable and spaced so there was never too much work on any one day.

The course covered each part of a post and how to improve it. It explained how to use techniques such as flow, sensory words, metaphors and stories in your writing.

The most powerful part was getting Henneke’s feedback. She reviewed each assignment and made comments and suggestions. This had the biggest impact on my writing.

By the end, I gained more confidence. Blogging is now much easier and enjoyable. I highly recommend Enchanting Business Blogging.

Before the course I was moderately comfortable with my writing.

But I had no structure to how I wrote posts. I followed my instincts and would do my best to edit and polish. I could recognize great writing – but I had no idea how to get there myself. I also had trouble generating ideas for blog posts.

And now?

I’m sad I won’t have any more homework and assignments. They were challenging but rewarding. Henneke helped me understand exactly how to structure my writing. I’m now comfortable going from step zero, generating ideas and turning them into a persuasive blog post.

The modules broke the writing process into bite-sized chunks, so I never felt I was choking or biting off too much at once. My favorite parts were taking the time to focus on what makes a great opening, closing and how to keep readers engaged.

Henneke was specific with her feedback and generous with her time. Getting immediate feedback on my writing was invaluable. This is how we learn. And she gave simple editing tips that make a huge difference in quality and reader experience.

I was initially worried about having the time to complete the course. I run a yoga studio and am starting a new blog, and I have a 17-month old child. Taking the course helped me structure my writing process. I used the assignments to write a few posts, and had great success, generating comments and good interaction with readers.

I like the way Mondays were typically a “warm up” day. Not a lot of writing, but mostly reading and digesting. The assignments on the other days took me between 30-60 minutes. And if I got behind, we had weekends and a break to catch up.

The resources Henneke has created are wonderful and clear. Each module contains a “Cheat Sheet” that breaks down the task into little steps. So when I feel stuck on a post opening, I can reference the Cheat Sheet for writing openings and get my mojo back.

I will continue to use the lessons and apply them on a daily basis. The course was a terrific investment.

~ Jessica Blanchard, Registered Dietician and Yoga Teacher
(Enchanting Business Blogging, 2014)

I had some initial fear about the timeline. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to fit the work in on top of my busy day, and I thought doing “homework” would be a grueling way to spend my free time.

It turns out it was grueling.

But I loved it.

The assignments in the course were such a fun blend of creativity and discipline that I found myself eager to sink my teeth into them. The meticulous outlines, cheat sheets, tips, and suggestions took the anxiety out of tackling the assignments. It was a pleasure to sit down and do the work.

I also found the further I got in the course and the more feedback I received, the more excited I became about writing again.

I learned from Henneke how to ban buzzwords and gobbledygook, and inject doses of power words to liven up my writing. And learning to trim flabby phrases? A much needed skill (and one I’m still practicing).

I would recommend this course to anyone, especially those who might feel a little too comfy with their own writing. The lessons help you shake off the cobwebs on your copy and challenge you to try something new. To make your work better.

This course was exactly what I needed to get out of my corporate writing funk and start taking chances with my writing. I learned practical skills I can apply, rather than just high-level concepts.

I’m a Business Coach and I wanted to take my business online. While putting up my website, I struggled with creating blog content.

My writing was business-like and robotic. As much as I tried, it wasn’t getting better. But I knew content would be by far the most powerful tool to market my business.

Before I signed up for the Enchanting Business Blogging course, I’d bought Henneke’s e-book “A Pain-Free Process for Writing Your About Page.” It was fantastic. I not only figured out my About page copy, but it also helped me write an announcement letter I’d been struggling with for months. That’s why I was convinced that Henneke’s teaching is powerful, and I decided to join her blogging course.

I found Henneke’s personal attention to every assignment extremely valuable – her feedback was sharp and incisive; and it helped me improve my writing significantly.

The course helped me launch my website. I wrote two complete blog posts during the program. I received a few business leads from that content, and it has helped me develop material for workshops I’m planning.

I liked that we worked out a blog purpose at the beginning of the course. It helped me to maintain the message of my brand. My blogging now comes from a place of giving and generosity, which brings magic into my business.

My content is no more robotic. My writing now has my voice, and I can share my teaching with ease and joy.

~ Sampada Chaudhari, Business & Transition Coach
(Enchanting Business Blogging, 2016)

The course has given me a different lens to look through for my own and others’ writing, along with an incredible set of tools.

For example, reviewing and editing my work in bite size chunks with specific goals (shorter sentences, emotional words, etc.) makes my process more focused and manageable. I’ve already applied this in my professional writing and I find writing a lot less overwhelming.

I have also stepped out of my grammatical comfort zone, and my writing has become more engaging and accessible.

I’m looking forward to more writing opportunities to apply and adapt these new skills!

Do you feel you have the words in you, but you’re struggling to get them out?

I used to feel the same.

I had read Henneke’s articles, and found she’s a great writer. I knew she’d been featured on well-known blogs, such as Copyblogger, ProBlogger, KissMetrics, and Boost Blog Traffic.

But when she offered her blogging class, the following questions played around in my head:

  • Can she really help me become a better writer?
  • Will her class be just a series of auto-responder emails and videos?
  • Will I waste my money and time on yet another class not delivering on its promises?

I had taken other classes that were just a series of emails and a Google Chat group where I could not get a hold of the teacher. Often I was instructed what to do but not how or why, so I wasn’t sure how to apply the lessons. I had paid $1000s for classes where the material was essentially from the tutor’s book, and all I was essentially paying for a certification badge.

On top of my doubts, I knew that Henneke’s class size would be small. This created a sense of urgency about signing up, and I didn’t like this rush.

But I have to admit my concerns were unfounded.

Henneke’s classes are small because she is very involved during the whole class.

Yes, there are automated emails. And, yes, there are videos to watch and download.

But Henneke is then free to help students so we can get better and learn faster. She thoroughly evaluates your “homework,” giving you her feedback. I like how she explains the why of her suggestions. She delicately navigates her role as instructor. She shares her expertise while leaving the responsibility of how I want to proceed firmly on my shoulders. I like that.

I haven’t quite gotten over my fear of writing, but that’ll come with time. I got rid of that “deer in the headlights” feeling as I write.

I now have a template outlining each step for my writing. I use it to write my articles baby step by baby step. I cannot begin to tell you how much this process and Henneke’s advice has helped.

Was Henneke’s class worth it? Yes, it was a bargain!

I’ve taken classes from many well-known bloggers, coaches and marketers. To date, Henneke’s class has been the best value. Period.

Would I recommend this class to you?

Only if you want to stop making excuses and start communicating your ideas with passion.

~ Chuck Doublet, Online Entrepreneur and soon-to-be-retired Electrician
(Enchanting Business Blogging, 2016)

I joined Enchanting Business Blogging to find out if I could write blog posts other people would like to read, and I wanted to clarify for myself how much I like to write.

I had been following Henneke for some time, and I like her writing, her generosity, and her sense of humor. I feel she genuinely cares about people.

Still I hesitated joining the course—mostly because of the price.

The promise of personal feedback, however, nudged me to join, and now I’ve seen the amount and quality of the feedback Henneke provides, I think the course is worth more than I paid.

I loved waking up in the mornings during this class. I knew something exciting was waiting for me—a next lesson, a new assignment or a new comment. The course is like a writing lab where I could learn new stuff, immediately apply my new knowledge and receive a thorough evaluation so I could learn even more.

Henneke was sensitive to our feelings about learning a new skill. I could overcome my fears of making stupid grammar mistakes and writing the “wrong” things. She gave clear advice while leaving responsibility and ownership to us.

Henneke’s cheat sheets for blog writing live permanently on my desk. I now know what it takes to write a blog post, from generating ideas to editing.

Thanks to Henneke and my fellow course participants, I have realized I can write valuable content and help potential readers. I’ve decided to create my own blog (I wrote my first three blog posts during the course!); and I’m looking forward to starting my own online business.

Signing up for Henneke’s course wasn’t an easy decision.

Prior to doing the course, I’d already been blogging for over three years. I read hundreds of articles and books on how to improve. But I never implemented anything.

The price tag of Enchanting Business Blogging was hefty. Would it be worth the money?

I can confirm that it definitely was.

The course covered a lot of information, delivered in concise chunks that were easy to absorb. The structure was clear, logical and effective. Henneke has obviously put a lot of thought and expertise into designing it.

But it wasn’t just about the new knowledge. The main benefits came from doing assignments, receiving individual feedback and interacting with Henneke and other participants.

This format gave me the confidence to implement new techniques on my blog immediately, in contrast to my past failed attempts. I didn’t just learn “how” to write – “what” and “why” also became much clearer.

We got a whole week to complete each module and assignment. I had no trouble with scheduling despite being very busy in my day job.

Here are the outcomes I found most useful:

  • Learning to focus on my customers and making my writing relevant to them
  • Planning and outlining posts to have a clear structure, purpose and benefit to the reader
  • Overcoming writer’s block and having an organised process for my blog
  • Editing text – cutting flab to make text more powerful

Finally, interaction with other participants turned into an unexpected benefit. I don’t know any fellow bloggers or online entrepreneurs in real life. Doing this course together with like-minded people boosted my confidence.

Overall, the course definitely provides great value for money. And the price tag acts as an extra incentive not to give up!

I started the year as a stay-at-home dad with a problem …

My daughters were on the verge of school: they were making me redundant. I had a half-baked business plan. I’d been studying copywriting with the aim of working from home. Now the time had arrived to put myself in front of potential clients. I knew blogging could help – but I needed to learn how to do it successfully.

I’d been a fan of Henneke for a long time. I loved her books and her blog posts. And I knew she had made a similar career change. So when she announced her business blogging course, I eagerly signed up.

From day one the course exceeded all my expectations. Henneke is a wonderful teacher who inspires and encourages. She was always available to answer questions. In fact, her personal feedback was one of the outstanding benefits.

Each module provided clear steps that made learning feel easy. I loved every minute. And I was able to complete all the exercises without neglecting my role as Daddy Daycare.

But did the course deliver the results I had hoped for?

Absolutely. The blog posts I’m writing now are many times better than before. I have a clear, fully-baked plan for my blog. And I’ve already attracted clients. That’s all thanks to Henneke. She showed me the way; she kept me believing. I highly recommend her course.

I almost decided not to sign up …

I’ve been a big fan of Henneke’s blog for years. So when I found out her Enchanting Blogging Course was accepting students, I couldn’t sign-up fast enough. Until I considered the cost.

Over the years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars on other blogging courses and ebooks. I knew how to write. But I didn’t have the confidence to start blogging. Something was missing.

So I was skeptical that Henneke’s course would make a difference.

Also, money was tight and I didn’t want to spend one more dime on training that promised to teach me how to write engaging blog posts. So I closed the email.

The next day, I opened the email again. And I made a promise to myself that I would take Henneke’s class and start my blog. No more excuses.

It was the right decision.

Henneke’s course taught me the “magic” of writing engaging blog posts. Week by week, I learned how to create blog posts that draws a reader in and doesn’t let them go. I’ve learned to write powerful headlines, opening paragraphs, closing paragraphs, and irresistible content.

Sure, it’s hard work. But the lessons are easy to follow and Henneke is with you every step of the way. That’s something you won’t find in many other courses.

The best part is I’ve gained the confidence to write and publish my first blog post. I’m even using the principles I’ve learned in Enchanting Blogging to create my first email course.

If you’ve taken other courses but aren’t satisfied with your results, do yourself a favor. Take Henneke’s Enchanting Blogging course. You won’t regret it.

I hesitated to spend money on another online course. I’ve taken a lot. (And many of them were high on information overload and low on usefulness and feedback.)

But, I wanted to establish myself online through blogging. I discovered Henneke’s course while reading her blog and loved her writing voice, personality, and whimsical cartoons. I felt she would be a great mentor.

And I was right.

During the 12 weeks, I learned to craft captivating headlines, define my ideal reader, write seductive introductions and inspiring final paragraphs, structure posts, apply story writing techniques, and get rid of my flabby sentences.

The materials in the course are top notch, practical, and engaging. I still picture images of Henrietta, the perky cartoon character Henneke draws to illustrate her examples and techniques. So fun.

What I appreciated most about the course was the constant and thorough feedback from Henneke. She often asked questions that challenged my writing. And she was always prompt to respond and willing to offer suggestions when I was stuck.

I had been struggling with direction for my blog. Thanks to Henneke I know where I’m going. I’ve found my voice. I’ve lost some flab.

Enchanting Business Blogging is the best investment I’ve made to improve my writing and grow my confidence.

Before starting Henneke’s course I was doubtful.

I had already read her book “Blog to Win Business.” The course seemed expensive, and I wondered how much extra value the course would present compared to her book. I was also worried that the course was not in my native language, while my blog was.

But I felt my writing sucked. And I was desperate to improve it.

Leaving my doubts behind, I jumped in.

And I was shocked how much value this course provides.

Heck, I would’ve paid more if I knew that before.

What I previously learned about writing was like a scattered map. I knew parts of the way, but I couldn’t get anywhere. Henneke was the tour guide who led me through the jungle of writing.

She told me to avoid copywriting pitfalls. She taught me how to write compelling stories. To use metaphors in a fascinating way.

The course is extremely well structured, and the pace is good, keeping us learning constantly. I like the concrete examples with analysis, showing the rules I could follow.

Halfway the course I closed my blog and opened a new blog in English. That’s how much my confidence had grown. Before the course had finished, I had my first ever guest post published on Pick the Brain.

Henneke pushed and challenged me to write better. She helped me understand what’s wrong, and how I could improve my writing.

My first reaction to Henneke’s class was “Twelve weeks, who has that sort of time?” My other concern was that I hadn’t even begun writing my blog, so I was worried I’d be the slowest person in the class. I was still fuzzy on the direction of my blog.

The class is also business-focused, so wasn’t the perfect fit for me, as I’m writing a personal journal.

I had followed Henneke’s blog for about six months and I knew she was a good writer. That was the compelling argument that made me sign up for the class, in spite of my concerns. And I’m glad I did.

Henneke organized the participants into supportive smaller groups, which instantly put me at ease about posting my homework. I had visions of hundreds of other participants looking at what I had written. In fact, it was primarily my group members. And I loved seeing Henneke’s suggestions to other group members, because it felt like extra instruction.

The course materials are excellent. The weekly video is informative and fun to watch. You receive three homework assignments a week, each a bite size piece leading to a good understanding of how to write an enchanting blog post. Henneke comments promptly on each assignment posted to the forum.

Note: Don’t take this class if you expect to be coddled. Henneke’s comments, while not harsh, let you know how to improve your writing.

The biggest benefit of this class was that I learned to write more concisely and engagingly. I discovered how to cut extraneous information, and to focus on my reader.

I’ve done other online courses, but this one was particularly good value—especially because of Henneke’s personal attention and feedback on all my assignments.

This course was more challenging than I expected, with a lot of assignments. But because it was challenging I learnt a lot.

I feel the difference in my writing, and when I edit my writing I often remember the lessons I learnt.

As a business owner, I know I should update my blog but I have so much to do that I hardly get the time.

In the course, Henneke showed blog posts and broke them down by annotating each paragraph to explain the thought process of the writer—why it was written like this and why this works. This made it easy to understand and apply the lessons. Once I got the ‘formula’ I could write blog posts quicker.

The real value, however, was not in the formulas, but having my assignments corrected by Henneke. Unlike copywriting books that overwhelm you with tips and tricks, Henneke evaluates your assignments and tells you precisely what you need to hear to make your writing more engaging.

I signed up to learn how to write persuasive blog posts for my business, but what I learnt was much more. I learnt how to grab people’s attention, position content so they take notice and inspire them to take action.

Learning these skills not just improved my writing but also helps me create better marketing campaigns for my business.
